How to allow Sellify AI to register a Toll-Free Number with Twilio

Why You Need a Toll-Free Number

Sellify AI requires every client using text messaging to operate with a registered toll-free number. You can register for one yourself, or you can have our team handle the process for you. If you would like Sellify AI register one for you- follow this guide. If you would prefer to register for one yourself, follow this help doc here.

Allowing our team to register for one on your behalf does not cost you any additional fees. We simply offer this as a service to free up more of your time and allow you to focus on the other areas of onboarding. We use
Twilio as our SMS gateway partner.

Why do you need a toll free number? Toll-free numbers allow for:

  • Higher deliverability rates

  • Lower risk of carrier filtering

  • Faster messaging speeds

  • Compliance with industry regulations

Important:
Even with the Sellify AI team registering a number for you, you still must create a paid account through twilio and add us as an admin.
 

Things to know before you begin:

  • This can take some time (apx- 5-10 minutes). Please allot adequate time to complete this process.

  • You will need, payment information, business address, tax ID on hand, and possibly a photo ID

  • Once submitted a number on your behalf, verification can take up to a week, or more, if your number gets rejected.

How to Register Create a Paid Account on Twilio

1. Create a Twilio Account 

If you do not already have a Twilio account, visit twilio.com/try-twilio and sign up.


2. Upgrade your account to a paid account

After your account is created- upgrade your account to a paid Twilio account

Click continue and enter your name and phone number. Then enter your personal verification information. This will require a pic of your photo ID.

Select that this account is for business use.

3. Add Sellify AI as an Admin on your account. 

Invite a user to an account

  1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Twilio Admin > Accounts

  2. Click on the name of the account you are managing.

  3. Click on the Users tab.

  4. Click the Invite User button.

  5. In the Invite User to Account panel that now appears, enter their email address.

  6. Choose their account role:

    • Administrator — They will be able to manage the account, including adding further users.

  7. Click Submit


4. Wait for Registration Approval

  • Most toll-free verifications are completed within 1–3 business days.

  • During this time, you may send limited low-volume traffic.

  • Once verified, you’ll have full messaging throughput with less carrier filtering risk.

To review the verification status of any Twilio toll-free number, go to the Twilio Console and navigate to Phone Numbers > Manage > Active numbers. Once there, select the toll-free phone number that you would like to review and click on the Regulatory Information.

A: No. For compliance and best performance, Sellify AI only supports verified toll-free numbers.
